Episode 27: Midtown COUGH-ee Takes a Sick Day
We took a risk writing a show about being sick during the peak of flu and cold season… and it totally worked out! We had a great crowd for the live recording of “Midtown COUGH-ee Takes a Sick Day,” but we can’t guarantee that no one went home without a tickle in their throat. We played on the theme of sickness for this show, featuring songs like, “Cold as Ice” and “Fever” but also took it in some strange directions with “Subterranean Homesick Blues” and “Flagpole Sitta,” as we do. We also had a bittersweet segment saying goodbye to our fearless host for 5 years, Dave Holly. Nick and the gang have filled in valiantly, but we will miss “The Voice of Midtown.” Finally, we got weird on the Magic School Bus, which somehow made a stop in Midtown and ended up entering Ralphie to study the germs that were making him sick. This was a really special show, and we hope you enjoy it!
